Beautiful Bridal Trends

We may be a couple of months into Wedding Season but there is still time to make a lucrative profit on bridal treatments and services within your hair or beauty salon. The wedding industry is estimated over £10 billion in the UK alone with each wedding estimated to cost just over £36,000. So if you are thinking of adding bridal hair and makeup to your treatment or service list, then it is an opportunity not to miss out on, especially as around 60% of brides choose to get their hair and makeup for the big day done professionally.

With most brides being in the know of what’s hot and what’s not with wedding trends, you need to be able to give the impression that you are up to date with your knowledge of the trends too and more importantly, are able to deliver should you have a bride booked in for her big day. So do your research; pick up some bridal magazines and if there’s a particular trend that is new to your salon, then get your team practising. There’s nothing worse than having to turn potential clients away because you aren’t able to achieve what they are after.

The top of the list for this year’s hair trends is the up-do. With texture playing a heavy part in this trend, brides are opting for soft, teased up hair, including vintage twists, loose buns and plaits. It could be worth creating a bridal focused leaflet or brochure highlighting what services and treatments you offer for brides. Showing your own salon images of ‘on-trend’ styles not only shows clients what you can do, but gives a level of professionalism which brides will be looking for to make their big day run as smooth as they have planned it.

As you would expect, the French Manicure is still the top choice when it comes to bridal nails and with ‘vintage’ being the top theme for the year, look to makeup styles that compliment the soft, teased up-do. Natural makeup, a bright lip and soft lashes (with subtle winged eyeliner) complement this vintage style whilst still giving that timeless look which all brides desire.

Consider creating an ‘all-in-one’ package deal where discounted rates are applied for every extra person that gets their hair and makeup done within the bridal party. Incentives such as this give them a reason to pick your salon over a competitor. You could even through in a complimentary glass of bubbly to make the experience extra special.
