Whitby Salon owner, Erica Legg is on-board to help promote premier software to the North East and spread the word about the product she feels passionate about; during a time of exciting expansion. Here’s Erica’s story…
Erica, who has a wealth of experience within the industry started out on the Prince’s Trust Business programme as a mentor to a start-up Beauty Salon, Kristy’s. After becoming business partners with Kristy in 2008, the pair relocated to the small seaside town of Whitby, where they struck gold with the idea of combining two concepts, express and retreat – in order to capture the passing tourist trade. The bright and bold ground floor Express rooms offer on-the-go skin, nail, brow, tanning and waxing services as well as a large retail area.
In contrast the first floor ‘Retreat’ rooms offer a warm, inviting spa area where clients can enjoy and unwind day spa environment. The concept includes a retreat lounge, hot tub and treatment rooms offering Elemis Face and Body treatments, Dermalogica Prescriptive facials and Crystal Clear.
Spa packages at Kristy’s have proved to be extremely popular, especially amoungst groups of friends or work colleagues. Erica commented ‘‘clients turn up with bottles of wine, put their dressing gowns on and just treat the place like home. After their treatments they walk out with no make-up on, their hair is a mess, but they are so relaxed they don’t care and I think it’s testament to everyone at Kristy’s that we can create such a enjoyable experience.’’
Kristy’s currently have two receptionists, three fully qualified staff and three apprentices who will be completing level 3 in September. After a great deal of success Kristy’s has an exciting future ahead, with expansion plans underway and growing the team.
‘‘When I decided to go into partnership with Kristy, a computer and a specialist software package was my first request! The second was a proper coffee machine!’’
Erica first met premier at The Beauty Show, Earls Court having witnessed a demonstration; ‘‘Kristy and I were looking at various software companies but when we saw what premier could do, it was everything we wanted and more!’’
Due to the constant growth of the company, the Premier software team has grown considerably over the last 12 months, to look after 1000’s of spa and salon business worldwide, which include the likes of Urban Retreat, Clarins, Macdonald Hotels and The Rezidor Hotel group.
