Premier Software Solutions recently held a student seminar at South East Essex College, Southend on Sea, Essex. They answered a request from Nicki Godfree, Curriculum Leader - Beauty, who was looking for someone to talk to their BTEC National Diploma students about spa management software. "I approached Premier Software because it is a well known and respected company in the industry," remarks Nicki.

The talk, given by Natalie Weatherley, Area Sales Executive at Premier Software, related to the BTEC National Diploma, Unit 7: Organisational Practices & Procedures that covers computerised booking systems and bespoke software packages.

Natalie gave the students a practical insight into this topic by giving a brief overview of the benefits of using computerised management software and a demonstration of the Premier Software Solutions Premier Spa software package that gave each student the chance to try it out for herself. The event ended with a prize winning quiz for the audience.

"The talk gave the students a good undertanding of a computerised system and it formed part of their assignment to meet relevant criteria for their diploma," comments Nicki. "They thoroughly enjoyed the session and were happy that it was interactive."

Nicki thought it was important for a professional in the industry to come and talk to the students. "They are the ones who are working with these systems on a daily basis and can literally speak from experience. It's not something I could have done because I used pen and paper when I was working in salons. Time has moved on! The students also tend to pay more attention to guest speakers, so it was a great help to me, too. I would definitely recommend the Premier Software seminar to other colleges and I've already suggested to other tutors that we invite them back.
